EARLY AMERICAN TIN HORSE PLATFORM BELL TOY.

A great classic form depicting a black stallion mounted to a tin base with large front eccentric cast wheels. I am sure that as a child played with this toy, his parents were driven to distraction or drink with the continual ringing of the bell. Smaller finely cast iron heart-shaped wheels on the rear of the platform and the larger eccentric heart-shaped iron wheels on the front allowed the child to have hours of fun and now 100+ years later this is a visually attractive “art form” for not only a toy collector but those that also appreciate treasures from the past. SIZE: 9-1/4″ l. PROVENANCE: From the Laurence Hapgood Estate. CONDITION: In all original good to very good condition with slightly heavier wear to green base. 49003-9 (800-1,200) – Lot 2009
