ARCADE BUICK SEDAN.An extraordinary all original example of a classic 1930s automobile manufactured by Arcade Mfg. Co. One could not hope to find a nicer example, especially with the rubber tires intact and not flattened! The roof is in virtually near mint, unscraped/chipped condition and only very minimal wear elsewhere on the body of this vehicle to the paint finish. As was the norm, Arcade had a 2-toned finish on this vehicle of a black chassis & roof and a seafoam green body. Gold & gilt highlighting with “Buick” stenciled on the radiator as well as the spare tire. Accompanying this toy is a vintage tin sign “Men at Work Except While Buicks are Passing”. SIZE: 8-1/4″ l. PROVENANCE: From the Laurence Hapgood Estate. CONDITION: Outstanding! A minor cleaning would surely remove years of shelf dust and bring back the true luster to the painted surfaces. 49003-11 (2,000-4,000) – Lot 2004 Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Spring 2015 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The prices noted here after the auction are considered unofficial and do not become official until after the 46th day. |
