20″ DENT POLICE PATROL.

A nice example of a classic police patrol manufactured by Dent Hardware. The only difference between the police patrol and the fire patrol would have been the seated rear figures, and in this case they are painted blue with police helmets. Drawn by two galloping horses with wire articulation to give a life like appearance as the toy is pulled along, the back end is enameled in a dark green with gilt highlighting. Multi-spoked iron wheels with simulated silver painted rubber covering them. Toy is completely original including chains from the yoke to the horses and without any issues other than needing a light cleaning to eliminate the years of shelf dust SIZE: 20″ l. PROVENANCE: From the Laurence Hapgood Estate. CONDITION: Overall very good to fine, some typical paint loss to policemen but still very good. Right rear wheel has slightly heavier flaking, paint loss to silver and yellow spokes. Wagon has alligatoring to the green paint. 49003-14 (700-1,100) – Lot 2003
