WINCHESTER SPECIAL ORDER MODEL 1886 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 45-70. Standard grade rifle with 26″ tapered oct. bbl, full magazine, case colored receiver, uncheckered wood with straight stock and special crescent brass buttplate. The bbl has a replacement Marbles front sight and a scarce full buckhorn rear sight. SN 113988. CONDITION: Near excellent. Bbl and magazine tube retain 95-97% original blue. Receiver, with two drilled and tapped holes, retains 85-90% fading case colors, stronger on the left side. Wood is sound, the buttstock and buttplate are replacements. Forearm retains 80-85% original varnish and the buttstock retains most of its custom finish. Bright shiny bore. 4-46603 JR14 (2,500-4,000)
