WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38-56. Standard grade rifle with 26″ round bbl, full magazine, uncheckered wood with straight stock and crescent steel buttplate. Receiver, lever and hammer are case colored. Bbl is fitted with half-nickel front sight and semi buckhorn rear sight. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum yellow sheet identifying this rifle and indicating it was shipped 10/18/1892. SN 69946. CONDITION: Excellent to as new retaining virtually all its original finish to both metal and wood with brilliant case colors on the receiver, lever, hammer and foreend cap. Wood is sound and retains virtually all its original varnish with a gouge and small bruises on the forearm, other handling and storage marks elsewhere. Metal has very fine scattered surface spotting.
