*DARNE ROTATING BREECH DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 16ga. Unusual shotgun with 26-3/8″ bbls, tapered, matted, swamped rib with single brass bead, marked on the right bbl “F. DARNE FILS” and “ST. ETIENNE” on the left. This strange rotating breech has a long lever on the right side that when rotated backwards, allows the entire breech to swing to the right. Depressing the breech further, activates the extractor. It has a knurled thumb safety on top. It is fitted with a rounded checkered splintered forearm, checkered stock with faint rounded pistol grip, 14″ over a serrated horn buttplate. It has dbl. triggers and sling swivels. NSN. CONDITION: Very good. Bbls retain 93-95% strong original blue. Wood, with freshened checkering, retains most of a refinish. Bright bores with scattered light pitting. 4-45966 JR436 (300-600)
