WINCHESTER 1ST MODEL 1873 SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 44WCF. Standard carbine with 20″ bbl, full magazine, uncheckered wood with straight stock, smooth carbine buttplate with trap and a staple with ring in left side of receiver. Receiver has the early mortised top. SN 16802. CONDITION: Good. Retains most of an old refinish. Bbl markings are very thin but legible. The dust cover has been modified with the impressed thumbprint filed through with serrations. Rear sight has been replaced with a small fixed sight. Strong dark bore. Left lip of the dust cover mortise on the receiver is broken away and will not retain the dust cover. 4-46598 JR26 (1,000-2,000)
