*WINCHESTER MODEL 21 CUSTOM ORDERED FLATSIDE TWO BARREL SET. Cal. 16ga. Fine Model 21 with 2-sets of bbls, one 26″ choked WS1/WS2, and the other 28″ choked FULL/MOD. Ribs are each marked “CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER” and each bbl has a red ivory front bead and center bead. Receiver is very early flat side with only a smooth rise instead of the stepped reinforcement. Wood is beautiful, center crotch cut walnut with beavertail forearm and pistol grip stock, 14-3/8″ over a checkered butt. Equipped with ejectors and single selective trigger. Accompanied by its original brown leather trunk case with presentation plaque on the lid inscribed “PRESENTED TO/MR. W.KING WHITE/OCTOBER 10 1935/BY THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE/ FARM EQUIPMENT INSTITUTE”. The interior contains a 2-pc rosewood and brass wiping rod, square Abercrombie & Fitch nickel oil bottle and Abercrombie & Fitch nickel snap caps. The end of the case has a paper Abercrombie & Fitch tag marked “WHITE/1607”. SN 10635. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls each retain about all of their original factory blue as does the receiver, which has a series of tiny scratches near the front end of the floorplate. Both sides of the receiver and floorplate have some minor light scattered surface rust. Wood is sound and retains about all of its fine Winchester finish with light surface scratches and minor loss of finish at the edge of the butt. Brilliant shiny bores. Case has scuffed corners and some light mildew inside but overall is fine. A great scarce 21. 4-47032 JR478 (6,000-10,000)
