CONVERTED CONSTABLE DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. NSN. Cal. 12ga, 36-1/2″ ribbed Damascus bbls with Birmingham proof marks on the bottom and sunken gold cartouches with raised markings “CONSTABLE” in a straight line and “PHILADELPHIA” in a wavy line. Converted to percussion by installing drums in the recessed sides of the bbl. The silver thumb piece has the inscription in script “Mifflan Pyle/1833”. Ramrod retains the original worm inside a brass covering. CONDITION: Much brown Damascus finish remains on the bbl but it is heavily worn around the breech. Stock has been repaired on the forearm. Lightly sanded and refinished over all. Bbl escutcheons and tail pipe are silver. 4-472490 FS714 (900-1,200)
