*IDEAL MODEL 4R DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12ga. Unusual lifter action round action shotgun with 29″ bbls, having the swamped French rib with dbl. lump and dolls head rib extension. The coin finish receiver is very round with deep engraved fences with side clips with the rest of the receiver having about 70% coverage large arabesque patterns. The action is box lock with very unusual in-line mounted triggers inside individual triggerguards. The splinter forearm has very fine checkering with a mottled brown gutta percha tip. Buttstock, a replacement, has a bulbous, round, coarse checkered grip, 14-1/4″ over a serrated hard rubber buttplate. The toe of the stock has a fitting for a retractable sling. A very clean line lightweight shotgun. SN 23509. CONDITION: Very good, as noted. Bbls retain most of a fine reblack. Receiver, about 50% of its original coin finish. The forearm is dark and oil stained showing heavy wear with an old refinish. The new buttstock retains most of its custom finish and is missing its retractable sling.
