*ELAN SLIDING BARRELS OVER/UNDER SHOTGUN. Cal. 12ga. Strange lightweight superposed shotgun with 27-5/8″ plain bbls, open side ribs with single brass bead. Built in France on an alloy receiver with a large lever on the right hand side of receiver, that when raised, releases the bbls to slide forward for loading or extracting. The lever is also a safety that must be depressed downward to fire. Stocked with straight grain European walnut with checkered smooth wrap, around forearm and checkered stock that has a tiny round knob, 14-1/4″ over the original black plastic buttplate. SN 1034. CONDITION: Excellent. Retains most of its original factory finish to both metal and wood with a series of light scratches on the left side of receiver. Bright shiny bores. 4-45965 JR438 (500-1,000)
