*BECKER REVOLVING SEMI-AUTO SHOTGUN. Cal. 16ga. Unique 5-shot revolving cylinder German design with 25″ bbl having a half-matted rib with Raybar-type front sight. Cartridges are loaded through a port on the right side of the receiver. As the chambers are loaded, the cylinder is rotated until all five chambers are filled. The bbl is pulled forward to cock for the first shot. Then, when the safety is released and it fires the first round, the bbl automatically recoils forward and the cylinder rotates one chamber in preparation for the next shot. Empties are ejected automatically except for the last shot, like a single action Colt, with an ejector rod. This unusual shotgun was produced in the 1920’s in Germany and according to an accompanying letter, from a Mr. Kelner of Germany, dated 1998, only around 100 of the these unusual pieces were ever made. It fires a 2-1/2″ 16ga. shotshell. The wood is straight grain European walnut with long rounded checkered forearm and checkered semi-pistol grip buttstock with cheek-piece, 14-1/4″ over a checkered horn buttplate. SN 532. CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbl and receiver retain about 90% dull rust-blue. Cylinder, of stamped steel, is a gray-metal color. Wood is sound and retains most of an old refinish with a few bug bites on the buttplate. 4-45975 JR423 (500-1,000)
