*SPECTACULAR PARKER AAHE DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 16 ga. Peerless steel barrels, 32” choked Full/Full with tapered matted rib and double ivory beads. Built on a #1 frame with ejectors and Jurjevic single trigger. The receiver is spectacularly engraved with light relief game scenes of two flying mallards on the left side and two flying pintails on the right side, with three Valley quail on the floorplate. The balance of the receiver and triggerguard are spectacularly engraved with extremely fine floral and arabesque patterns, the game scene background is very fine matted. “Parker Bros.” is engraved in a small riband on the bottom front of the receiver. The fences are typically deep scallop engraved with matching floral and arabesque patterns. The water table on the receiver and standing breech, as well as barrel face, are jeweled and the engraving patterns extend 2-1/4” up the barrel and over the doll’s head. The lever and top tang are identically engraved with the tang having a bird perched on a limb. The wood is spectacular honey and chocolate French or Circassian walnut with a full coverage checkered splinter forearm and straight stock 14” over a checkered skeleton buttplate. It has double raised fleur-de-lis checkered side panels and extremely fine, full coverage checkered wrist with a gold oval toeplate. SN 213794. CONDITION: About excellent, the barrels retain 96-97% strong bright original blue with only some very minor handling and use marks. The receiver retains 60-70% of faded case colors with the balance turned silver. The triggerguard retains most of a professionally restored finish. The spectacular wood has a professional repair through the wrist and retains about all of the restored finish accomplished at that time. The bores are bright and shiny. 4-47479 JR (20,000-30,000)
