*DARNE SUPERPOSED SLIDING BREECH SHOTGUN. Cal. 16ga. Fine French made over/under shotgun with 26-3/4″ bbls, having a narrow matted rib with fixed rear sight and brass bead front sight. Receiver and sliding breech are blued with very light engraving over top of the breech block and back edge of the sliding breech, “SUPER/CHARLIN” is marked between the lifting knobs. Left side of the receiver has a small knurled safety. Triggerguard, floorplate and foreend iron are white alloy. Wood is very nicely figured French walnut with very narrow flat sided checkered forearm and typical French minimal pistol grip stock, 14-1/4″ over a serrated horn buttplate. Stock and bbl have sling swivels. SN 676. CONDITION: Excellent. Metal retains 96-98% strong bright original blue with a few scattered spots of surface rust. A ding in the rib and a couple scratches on the sliding breech and receiver. Stock has a hairline on the left side below the receiver. Otherwise, is sound and retains most of its fine original finish. Bright shiny bores. 4-45940 JR457 (1,250-1,750)
