WINCHESTER SPECIAL ORDER MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 32WCF. Standard grade rifle with very rare 32″ oct. bbl, full-length magazine, two magazine bands, uncheckered wood with straight stock and crescent steel buttplate without trap. Bbl is fitted with a gold washed Beaches front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. Receiver is blued with case colored lever, hammer and buttplate and has a single set trigger. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum yellow sheet identifying this rifle with 32″ bbl and set trigger and indicating it was shipped 8/9/1887. SN 233199. CONDITION: Excellent. Retains virtually all its original factory finish to both metal and wood. Bbl has a couple of small, cleaned spots about 1″ from muzzle, otherwise the blue is bright and shiny with some striation marks on the right sideplate and side of the receiver. There is also some minor flaking on the right side of the receiver. Lever retains about 90% fading case colors turned silver on the loop. Hammer retains 97-98% brilliant case colors. Buttplate retains about 65% case colors, bright in sheltered areas, silver and gray elsewhere. A rare rifle in extremely fine condition. Brilliant shiny bore. 4-46599 JR30 (8,000-15,000)
