PERCUSSION KENTUCKY STYLE PISTOL. NSN. Cal. 46, 8-3/4″ engraved oct. bbl marked “J.M. CASWELL/& SON/LANSINGBURGH/1830” at the rear. The converted flintlock is marked “ASHMORE/WARRANTED” and is engraved with a bird and reeds at the back. Four Greek initials have been carved into the bottom of the stock. CONDITION: Smooth brown patina with scattered specks of surface rust. Stock has been cracked from the lockplate forward with replaced wood above the lock and on the left side of the forearm. Otherwise the edges are sharp. Ramrod is a replacement. Hammer is a replacement and slightly too short for this gun. 4-47288 FS659 (1,000-1,500)
