CASED PAIR OF FINE GERMAN PERCUSSION TARGET PISTOLS. NSN.. Cal. .58, 8-5/8″ oct. bbl. Marked “W: ROSEÉ” on top, inlaid in gold along with a number of stars and flowers. Lock is similarly marked on an eel “a STUTTGART” again with star and flowers. Hammer also has these flower decorations in gold. Single set triggers, stocks carved with scales and flowers. In a burl walnut case with green felt lining containing a cleaning rod, bullet mold, cap tin, powder measure and a key. Powder flask is incorrect. CONDITION: Gray patina overall with slight loss to gold inlay on the bbls. Faint remains of Belgian proof marks appear on left sides of the bbls. Stocks are fine retaining most of the varnish. Case has many small scratches on the lid but no loss to the burl veneer. Interior lining is dirty with some glue stains and losses around the sharp edges of the triggerguard. Screwdriver and mallet are missing, the key works. 4-46963 FS531 (3,000-5,000)
