CASED SET OF DUELLERS. Cal. 11mm. 10-1/2″ oct. rifled bbl, both SN 1643 on the bottom flats and stamped with two Liege proofs including “ELG”, “JB” and “1.0” for the cal. 16-1/2″ o.a, leaf and scroll engraved locks, breeches and barrel tangs (numbered 1 and 2 in gold), triggerguards, and butt caps. Very well grained walnut half stocks with deep raised carving. In their original 19″ x 11-1/2″ x 3″ veneered case, the lid inlaid with two strips of brass and with a large escutcheon, brass corners on the lid only, slightly faded maroon velvet lining, with a brass loading rod, a brass tipped wooden handled cleaning rod, the mould, pewter oil bottle, a very fine flask embossed with a child and a stag, wooden handled nipple wrench with bone screw-off cover containing the screwdriver blade, a worn tip for the cleaning rod, turned wood patchbox, German silver powder measure, a steel ladle for casting bullets and it’s separate handle, and a wooden mallet. CONDITION: The pistol is completely original with excellent bores, one with scattered very light pitting on the barrel showing 70% original blue, the other with 90% bright glossy blue, both stocks and gray hardened locks and mounts are excellent plus. Case generally excellent, but the exterior with an old re-varnish, the thin strip of wood along the inside edges of the case broken off and missing in several places. A few areas of glued repair to the generally excellent lining, the mallet only a very good antique replacement (the handle 3/8″ to short for the compartment), the other accessories all original and very fine to excellent. 4-46207 (6,000-8,000)
