ASSEMBLED FIRST MODEL BROWN BESS MUSKET. NSN. Cal. .82, 45-1/2″ bbl appears to be original flintlock. Lock is not the first for this stock. It has a crude replacement hammer and reproduction springs and screws. CONDITION: Stock is a correct first model type but is missing the rear ramrod pipe and has numerous cracks and chips missing; some repaired. It is also carved with numerous initials on all sides. Sling swivels are missing. Lock is functional. Metal has a rust-brown patina. Patina on the brass is spotted. Ramrod is a replacement. FS852 4-47516 (1,500-3,000)
