This illustration by American artist Fred Pansing depicts the “SS New York” paddle wheel passenger steamship just off West Point Light and Crow Nest Mountain on its daily run between New York and Albany. Lithographed by Knapp & Co., Lithographers, N.Y., circa 1905. SIZE: Image: 36″ w x 22-1/4″ h (excluding matte). CONDITION: Very good to excellent; close examination reveals a few closed margin tears, the largest extending 6″ into the clouds at top right but does not detract whatsoever from the spectacular illustration. The print has had a new matte added, hand lettered to indicate the original text printed across the bottom margin. 1-14329 (600-1,000) – Lot 1799
