RARE “CALIFORNIA” KENTUCKY. The original length 30-1/2″ heavy oct. Cal. 50, bbl marked on the top flat “MADE FOR/CHs CURRY/SAN FRANCISCO” and fitted with standard open sights. Lightly engraved lock marked “MOORE/WARRANTED”, full stock with applied tiger striping and typical Kentucky style brass mounts including the patchbox with openwork finial. CONDITION: Hammer probably a working life replacement, the nipple drum vent screw a modern replacement, the rear sight moved during the period of use, the steel parts with a very light age patina or a dull natural steel surface with some scattered light to moderate pitting, all markings clear. Stock basically very good but with 10-1/2″ piece replaced along the left forend, the right forend with some glued splinters, etc. Repairs using the original wood, brass forend tip a modern replacement, brass mounts with a light age patina. The California barrel markings are absolutely genuine, this “Chs. Curry” almost certainly the same person who sold as many Henry Derringers! 4-46203 (3,000-5,000)
