DETROIT AND CLEVELAND NAVIGATION CO. “SS CITY OF DETROIT III” SIDEWHEEL STEAMER TIN SIGN.Image depicts the 485 foot long “SS City of Detroit III” in the Detroit harbor. She was built by the Detroit Shipbuilding Co. in Wyandotte, MI at a cost of $1,500,000, and launched in Oct. 7, 1911. This sidewheel steamer was claimed at the time to be the largest in the world. Graphics include a biplane flying off in the distance. Sign is in its original wood frame with brass I.D. plate. SIZE: Overall: 41-3/4″ w x 29-1/4″ h.
