FINE ALLENTOWN SCHOOL KENTUCKY RIFLE. NSN. Cal. 52, 41-3/4″ oct. bbl. Decent reconversion using a new Ketland & Co lock. Silver moon face on cheek-piece. The 2-pc patchbox is attached with two wood screws. CONDITION: The bbl has been polished and re-ground but some pitting remains around the breech area. There is an incomplete crack at the toe of the butt and some minor repairs on the forearm. There is also some fill at the rear of the lockplate. This rifle is pictured in Kentucky Rifles and Pistols: 1750-1850 pp.28-29. 4-47208 FS686 (1,000-1,500)
