CHARLES BAUM FLINTLOCK KENTUCKY RIFLE. NSN. Cal. .44, 38-3/4″ oct. bbl. The bbl is marked “C+B” towards the rear. Baum worked in New Berlin and Pottsville, PA in the 2nd quarter of the 19th Century. In addition to the fancy 4-pc patchbox, this rifle has ten silver and two brass inlays. CONDITION: Smooth brown patina except around the breech, which has some fire scale from the reconversion. There are two repaired cracks around the lock area. Lock is not working, probably due to a failure in the set triggers. 4-47363 FS301 (1,500-2,500)
