HEAVY HUDSON VALLEY FOWLING PIECE. NSN. Cal. 12ga, 54″ stepped bbl with light engraving at the breech. There are no marks on the heavy Germanic lockplate or on the bbl. Butt is over 2″ wide and 6″ high. This wide stock causes an interesting feature which is typical of early Hudson Valley Fowlers. Triggerguard is mounted in the center of the stock, but the trigger is mounted to the right of the triggerguard. CONDITION: Gray-brown patina with surface rust and light pitting except at the breech where it is heavier. There is a 4″ sliver missing at the right tip of the forearm and a crack extending to the rear from there. Otherwise the stock is fine. Ramrod is probably a replacement. Ramrod pipes are partially worn through. Mechanically good. 4-47351 FS299 (3,000-5,000)
