Illustration of a demure train passenger gazing out the window at a farmer’s barn painted advertisement. 2) “Sloan’s Liniment” cardboard die cut easel-back sign with gentleman in striped suit promoting this Boston, Mass. based pharmaceutical company. 3) “Luzianne” Coffee and Chicory cardboard sign with image of waitress holding a tray of steaming refreshment from the William B. Reily & Co. Inc., New Orleans, U.S.A. 4) Hires Root Beer tin sign with Hires’ trademark “Ugly Kid” holding a Mettlach mug, captioned “Hires to Your Health”. Chas. W. Shonk Co. Litho., Chicago. SIZE: Images are: 1) 17-1/4″ w x 23-1/4″ h. 2) 16″ w x 24-1/2″ h. 3) 19-3/8″ w x 24″ h. 4) 18-7/8″ w x 26-7/8″ h. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Richard J. Miller. CONDITION: 1) Good to very good; margin tear with some rippling upper right side; few areas of discoloration; some fade to reds. 2) Good to very good; scattered soiling, scuffing and some creasing. 3) Puncture to her right cheek, otherwise very good. 4) Very good to excellent; has a few soft bends; some subtle color touch up to bottom corners and scratch; image of boy is very clean with bright colors. 1-15021 (800-1,200) – Lot 1726
