INMAN STEAMSHIP LINES “SS CITY OF NEW YORK” FLAGSHIP.

Illustration of the 10,500 ton twin-screw steamer “SS City of New York” in New York harbor. This ship was a British built passenger liner launched in 1888, designed to be the largest and fastest liner on the Atlantic, and was ultimately scrapped at Genoa, Italy in 1923. She had an overall length of 560 feet, with engines producing 18,000 horsepower that gave her a cruising speed of 20 knots. Lithograph by Major Knapp & Co., N.Y. SIZE: Image: 38-1/4″ w x 23-3/4″ h.
