Illustration of the 10,500 ton twin-screw steamer “SS City of New York” in New York harbor. This ship was a British built passenger liner launched in 1888, designed to be the largest and fastest liner on the Atlantic, and was ultimately scrapped at Genoa, Italy in 1923.
