SN 33716. Cal. 38 Super. 5″ bbl with bright polish commercial blue overall with Stevens adjustable rear sight, checkered long trigger, and proper 2-pc non-monogrammed Colt brown plastic grips. The Colt Super Match Automatic is one of the rarest and most difficult to find automatics. Only 3,909 were produced of which 2,250 were mounted with adjustable sights. This example comes with a factory letter verifying its configuration. Gun being shipped to Cullum & Boren Company, Dallas, Texas, November 15, 1946. Shipped blue finish adjustable sight in a 50 gun shipment. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, with slight finish loss on edges of the flats of the slide. Finish loss is also on the high points of the front and rear sight with finish thinning on frontstrap and arched mainspring housing. Bore and mechanics are bright and crisp.
