WONDERFUL HIGH ORIGINAL CONDITION W. & C. SCOTT HAMMER GUN.

SN 26609. (1880) Cal. 12 ga. 2-1/2″ Chambers. 30″ Fine Damascus bbls with game rib, engraved with makers name and address, and dolls head extension, are choked full and mod. Case hardened top lever action is fitted with bar locks, with nicely filed serpentine hammers. Action is engraved with 80% coverage well cut scroll with makers name on each lockplate. Tails of locks are engraved with fine portraits of dogs heads. Dense, lightly marbled European walnut horn capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/4″ over checkered horn buttplate, and features drop points, point pattern wraparound checkering, and a vacant oval. Matching splinter forend has Scott patent long forward lever release. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain over 95% what appears to be orig brown, with some light marks. Action and locks retain over 90% of their orig case hardening color. Trigger guard has traces of its orig blue. Stocks retain nearly all of an old oil light refinish over some light scratches and marks, checkering somewhat worn. Bores are excellent. Each bbl has a slight ding; one shallow 5″ back from muzzle on left bbl, another sharper 8″ back from muzzle on right. Action is tight. Locks are crisp. 49960-2 MGM160 (2,000-3,000) – Lot 1677
