SN 12774. Cal. 12 bore. 32″ bbl, 2-3/4″ chambers, breech end marked .815 choked improved cyl/improved cyl. Full length plain steel top rib with steel front bead and engraved dolls-head extension and marked “Patented Oct 10, 1865/Westley Richards 170 New Bond Street, London Best quality”. Dbl triggers, extractor, no safety. Steel capped full pistol grip, buttstock checkered in 2-point pattern with tear-drop behind locks and 14″ LOP over full steel buttplate. Small silver oval on bottom of stock. Splinter forearm with deeley release and horn-tip near fully checkered in 2-point pattern. Receiver is beautifully engraved in fine English scroll elongated hammers with fish-head engraving on top. Pivot opener top lever, lock plates marked “Westley Richards” on both sides. Full length steel trigger guard which is nicely engraved. WEIGHT: 10lbs. CONDITION: Excellent overall. Bbls retain nearly all of a fine London quality re-black with a couple of minor handling marks. Buttstock and forearm are excellent as restored and retain most of a beautiful high-gloss hand rubbed finish. Lock plates retain 60%+ orig case color. Trigger guard has been expertly re-blued and has toned slightly. Bores are very good (very thick heavy bbls) with scattered light pitting and chambers extended.
