CONFEDERATE MARKED SHORT ARTILLERY SWORD. A nice example of a crude copy of the U.S. Model 1833. This pattern is unique to the Confederate States and has a cast brass hilt with elongated crossguard having “CS” crudely cast in the center. The grip has a flattened appearance with diagonal incisions and a half globular pommel with a 5-point star cast in the center. The blade measures 18.5″ is double edged and has a central unstopped fuller. No scabbard. CONDITION: Very good, the entire sword exhibits a very dark untouched patina.
