*HIGH ART ITHACA CUSTOM GRADE ONE 20 GAUGE.SN 141390. 20 ga. 28″ Krupp fluid steel bbls. 2-3/4″ chambers. CHOKED: Imp.cyl/Full. Full length matted rib with “certifiable pre-ban ivory” mid and front bead. Breech end of rib nicely floral and stipple engraved. Double triggers, extractors, automatic safety. Capped full pistol grip buttstock checkered in fancy Grade 4 type pattern with 14-1/4″ LOP over serrated line black hard rubber buttplate. Gold shield in stock. Splinter forend with ebony tip checkered in fancy Grade 4 type pattern. Receiver is fully and finely floral and scroll engraved with Gothic figure at front of frame, dogs head near hinge pin and large woodcock on bottom of frame. The quality of the engraving and in particular the stippling is very good. Trigger guard is fully engraved with 4 quail in scene on bow and full floral pattern throughout. Inside of trigger guard marked “S.J. Large 1907 / Bristol, CT / U.S.A.”. Top lever and top tang are fully floral engraved and flower pattern at fences and breech end of bbls. Inside of forearm also marked “Made for S.J. Large 1907”. A quick internet search shows S.J. Large as Town Councilman for Bristol, CT and an Executive for the American Silver Co. More detailed and thorough research should be done on this gun. WEIGHT:6 lbs. 9 oz. Special Note: This item contains or is made of ivory. This information is located in the front section of our catalog. CONDITION: Very good. Bbls retain 85-90% restored rust blued finish. Receiver has toned gray. Buttstock and forearm are very good with a few light handling marks and scratches throughout particularly on left side of stock and retain 85-90% of an older restored varnish. Checkering on forearm starting to thin, though still mostly visible. Bore is bright and shiny. There is some type of a ring, about 1″ into left chamber that should not impact this gun, but is noticeable when looking at the bores.
