*BOSS SIDELOCK EJECTOR GAME GUN.SN 5130. (ca 1900) Cal. 12 ga. 2-5/8″ Chambers. 30″ Bbls, choked mod and mod, are newly engraved with Boss’s Dover Street address on game rib. Matching Boss SN is on bbl flats. Bottoms of bbls are stamped with Boss’ re-barreled nos. “6536” (ca 1915). Gold inlaid “2” is on rear of rib, top lever, and forend tip. Bbl flats are stamped with London 1986 re-proofs at .740. Coin finished, square backed, sidelock action features automatic safety and double triggers. Action is engraved in near full coverage typical Sumner rose and scroll, with 16 rose bouquets. Single beaded trigger guard has SN at grip. Nicely marbled European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/8″ over checkered wood butt, and has standard embellishment of large drop points, point pattern checkering, and gold oval. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. PROVENANCE: Lifelong Collection of Gentleman Collector Herbert Hyatt. CONDITION: Good, as refinished. Bbls retain approx 90% lustrous re-black most likely done at time of re-proof. Action cleaned to a frosted coin finish. Stocks with nearly all their hand rubbed oil finish, have checkering re-cut. Bores are fine, shiny with evidence of dent removal on both bbls about 10″ back from muzzles. Minimum wall thickness is .013 on left, and .018 on right, however gun did pass proof at .740 in 1986. 49897-14 MGM161 C&R (4,000-7,000) – Lot 1661
