ENGLISH TANTALUS SET.

English Tantalus set includes 4 clear crystal decanters with rectangular bodies and faceted corners and shoulders. Each decanter is finished with a matching stopper and star cut bottom. Decanters are housed in a fitted burl wood box with decorative brass braces on corners, hinged lid closes down into a lock but no key present. SIZE: Decanter 4″ w x 3-1/4″ d x 8″ t. Box 10″ w x 9″ d x 9″ t. CONDITION: 1 decanter has a crack running from lip down shoulder to side where it turns and follows shoulder edge, crack is approximately 3-1/4″ long in total. 3 stoppers have minor roughness to facet edges and corners and 1 having shell shaped flake at 1 corner. Box has an old wood patch at top of keyhole as well as a filled chip to wood at top corner. Otherwise very good to excellent. 49769-3 (1,000-2,000) – Lot 1654
