2ND MODEL GRISWOLD CONFEDERATE REVOLVER. SN 3000 on left side of frame and bbl and cylinder. Cal. .36, 7-3/8″ part oct. bbl. Rear of the bbl is split on the bottom. Cylinder arbor has been welded at the wedge hole. Wedge has a piece of iron brazed to its front edge. Nose of the hammer is badly battered but the pins on the back of the cylinder are all intact. Backstrap has the number VI filed at the triggerguard screw, there is also a matching box on both the trigger screw and backstrap at this point. There is a flaw on the left ear of the backstrap and it is broken off. CONDITION: There is some filing on the iron parts which have a generally brown-gray appearance. Brass has a dark patina with some corrosion around screws. Grips are heavily worn at the bottom but are fine otherwise. 4-46159 FS527 (22,500-25,000)
