CARVED & PAINTED TOBACCONIST FIGURE.20th century. Figure of a Native American chief carved mostly from the solid. The figure depicted holding a clutch of cigars in his left hand, a dagger in his right hand, dressed in tunic and robe and mounted on a platform and plinth. SIZE: 64″ h overall. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Richard J. Miller. CONDITION: Structurally good with old repaired vertical shrinkage crack on back. Seams in feathers of headdress probably laminate seams.
