MOSER DECORATED VASE.

Moser vase has cream colored enameled decoration of stylized leaves encircling the entire vase with dark blue heart shaped leaves and stylized flowers interspersed among the foliage. There are 6 shield shaped windows, each decorated with a single flower with gilt stems, dark blue leaves and applied gilt flowers. There are additional applied and gilt flowers throughout the decoration. All set against a cranberry glass background. Vase rests on an ornate ormolu foot. Unsigned. A similar vase with the upper metallic embellishment is shown on page 13 of Moser Glass: The Klabin Collection by Gary Baldwin in which Mr. Baldwin suggests that a similar vase was probably exhibited at the World’s Fair. SIZE: 21-1/4″ t. CONDITION: Glass is very good with some small areas of missing blue paint to flowers and leaves. Ormolu foot shows wear to gilding. Vase was designed to have an ormolu top rim decoration, this is missing, therefore there is roughness to the top rim of the vase that would have been concealed. 49806-1 (4,000-6,000) – Lot 1644
