Extremely scarce tin version of this cigar sign featuring a U. S. Cavalry recruit in blue cloak, captioned “Best Nickel Cigar In The World”. Frame marked “Recruit” and “5c. Cigar”. H. D. Beach Co., Coshocton, O. SIZE: Image: 22″ w x 28″ h. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Richard J. Miller. CONDITION: Sign grades very good to excellent; close examination reveals scattered light surface pitting which appears to have had some professional color touch up. The raised frame has been nicely repainted, small crack at lower right rim. 1-14944 (1,500-2,500) – Lot 1644
