RARE CHINESE BARREL FORM CHILD MINDER.

Early 20th century, China. Barrel form with iron staves. The sloping sides canted. Mid-section fitted with interior shelf and perforated slide on which the toddler would stand within barrel. Slide with pierced, cutout slots for drainage of waste products. NOTE: This has been verified by a New England institution of Asian Antiques and Art. SIZE: 31″ h x 26″ d. CONDITION: Surfaces have been restored and re-polished. Bottom iron stave most likely a replacement. Otherwise structurally good. 51399-2 (300-400) – Lot 1642
