FINE 100 YEAR OLD 1911 COLT ARMY.

SN 218705. Cal. 45. One of the last Gilbert H. Stewart inspected 1911’s. All proper markings “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” crisp and clear. “RAMPANT COLT” sharp. Sights in excellent condition. CONDITION: Stocks show moderate wear to the bottom portion. Some crushing of small diamonds on left side. Stock screws on right show minor buggering; stock screws on left look excellent. Excellent condition lanyard loop magazine not orig to pistol; LL stopped in 1916. “HP” sharing common leg inspected bbl is from a later pistol. Bore heavily frosted near chamber. All other parts appear correct and orig. Loss of finish on front and rear grip straps. Loss of finish to patina on top of slide. For a 100 year old “veteran” with a couple of changed parts, it’s in nice shape. 51833-1 (2,500-5,000) C&R – Lot 1634
