MORSE CARBINE. SN 683. Cal. 52. 20″ round bbl, no markings. Frame has been broken in two behind the triggerguard and brazed. Other brazed repairs include the tail of the frame and the tip of the bottom frame plate. There is also a brass plug in the left side of the frame below the chamber. There are also numerous casting flaws. CONDITION: Rust-brown patina with an even coating of moderate rust. Frame is mostly a very dark patina, light only on the bottom cover plate. Latch is reblued. Forearm wood has been cleaned and re-varnished. Butt stock appears to have a coating of varnish but no evidence of sanding. Action is good. 4-46956 FS732 (8,500-12,500)
