SN 8301. Cal. 38 ACP. 6″ bbl. Manufactured in 1905 with a total production of 7,500. Blue finish overall with the distinctive rnd checkered hammer. 2-pc hard rubber grips with nickel silver escutcheons. Bright steel bbl with factory documentation showing shipped to Sears Roebuck and Company, Chicago, Illinois, on June 21, 1905.3 CONDITION: Fine overall, with most factory blue finish remaining. Strong case colors remaining on checkered rounded hammer. Grips are exceptional with only light wear on very high points with no cracks, chips or abrasions. Bore and mechanics are excellent with proper unmarked 7-shot magazine. Slight finish loss on frontstrap and backstrap from use which has mellowed to mostly plum. A 1902 Sporting with a production of only 7,500 is one of the least common Colt automatic pistols. 51034-14 TDW (1,500-2,500) C&R – Lot 1626
