*GRIFFIN & HOWE CUSTOM RIFLE WITH FULL LENGTH STOCK AND SCOPE.SN 24676. Cal. 30-06. This unusual rifle built on a Model 70 pre war action is stocked to the muzzle, with 24″ medium weight sporter bbl engraved “No 1870 Griffin & Howe Inc. New York”. Action is fitted with Lyman Alaskan 2-1/2 X scope with crosshair and dot reticle in G&H side mounts, and with Lyman 48 receiver sight. Relatively plain American walnut steel capped pistol grip stock is fitted with steel buttplate and has swept right hand shadow line cheekpiece. Classic point pattern checkering is at grip and forend. Weight with scope: 9 lbs. 7 oz. PROVENANCE: The Timothy Scott Collection. CONDITION: Excellent, close to new, retaining nearly all of what appear to be orig finishes on wood and metal, with some high edge wear on floorplate, and some light pitting on left side of trigger guard bow.
