SN 1760. Cal. 270. 23-3/4″ bbl marked on top “No. 1760 Griffin & Howe, Inc. N.Y.”. Marked with cal at chamber. Front ramp site with blade. Also mounted with a Lyman “all weather adjustable scope”. Beautiful hunting rifle with 1-pc walnut stock with a raised cheek piece and checkered in 2-point pattern at grip, 4-point pattern on forearm, and horn-cap. Checkered steel buttplate. Finely checkered bolt handle with safety. Serrated trigger, steel grip cap. Mounted for sling on bbl and butt. WEIGHT: 9 lbs. 4oz. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains most of a professionally restored finish. Buttstock is excellent, checkering lightly chased and with light handling marks and scratches throughout. Buttplate is very good retaining approx 60% blue. Mechanics are crisp. Bore is bright and shiny with light orange peel in a couple of places. Optics are good though slightly cloudy.
