*WALTHER 1936 OLYMPIA, PENTATHALON MODEL PISTOL WITH LONG BARREL.

SN 6549-0. Cal. .22LR. Scarce Walther Olympia pistol, sometimes referenced as the “Funfkampf” or “Pentathlon Pistol” in .22 LR with 9-1/2″ bbl fitted with screw-in bead front sight and horizontally adjustable rear sight. The left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner, its location Zella-Mehlis, “Olympia-Pistole” and the SN “6549” that is repeated immediately below on the extended tang along with “0” for Olympia. The right side of the slide is marked “CAL .22 long rifle”. Crown/N markings are on the right side of the slide and repeated twice on the right side of the bbl near the chamber. As per all the long bbl’d Olympia’s, the lower surface of the bbl is grooved for a counterweight assembly. The forward frame has a similar provision as reflected by a groove and two screw holes. 2-piece wrap-around wooden grip secured with two screws and covered with several panels of deep checkering. Factory orig mag is fitted to an extended wooden base that is matched on the left side with “6549” along with a “K” inspector marking. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Approximately 98% bright orig salt blue finish with only minimal sharp edge wear. Equally strong blue on the front strap. Crisp walnut grips retain most of their orig varnish with superficial dings. No discernible cracks or splits. Bright bore with sharp rifling.
