*WALTHER 1936 OLYMPIA PISTOL, PENTATHALON MODEL WITH LONG BARREL.

SN 8837-0. Cal. 22LR. Scarce Walther Olympia pistol, sometimes referenced as the “Funfkampf” or “Pentathlon Pistol” in .22 LR with 9-1/2″ bbl fitted with bead front sight and horizontally adjustable rear sight. The left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner, its location Zella-Mehlis, “Olympia-Pistole” and the SN “8837” that is repeated immediately below on the extended tang along with “0” for Olympia. The right side of the slide is marked “CAL .22 long rifle”. Eagle/N markings are on the right side of the slide and repeated twice on the right side of the bbl near the chamber. As per all the long bbl’d Olympia’s, the lower surface of the bbl is grooved for a counterweight assembly. The forward frame has a similar provision as reflected by a groove and two screw holes. 2-piece wrap-around wooden grip secured with two screws and covered with several panels of deep checkering. Mag is fitted to an unmarked hollow base of brown mottled plastic. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Approximately 90% orig salt blue finish with the left side of the bbl having several spots of noticable discoloration. Crisp walnut grips retain most of their orig varnish with superficial dings. A small crack on the left panel extends about 1/2″ vertically from the base. Bright bore with sharp rifling.
