PARKER GRADE III LIFTER.SN 17593. Cal. 10 GA. 33″ Damascus steel bbls (Appear to be orig length), 2-7/8″ chambers. Number 3 frame. Full length Damascus rib with steel front bead, marked “Parker Bros. Makers, Meriden, Conn. Damascus Steel”. Double triggers, extractors, no safety. Ball grip stock checkered in three point pattern with tear drop behind lock plates, nickel shield in top with 14-1/2″ LOP over skeleton butt. Splinter forend with Deeley release and horn tip checkered in standard grade III pattern. Receiver is lightly engraved with scroll, pointer on left, setter on right and marked “Parker Bros.” on both sides. Bottom of receiver lightly scroll engraved with woodcock and trigger guard with pointer. WEIGHT: 10 lbs. 10 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, bbls retains 60% orig Damascus pattern, with scattered light freckling and staining. Receiver retains 30-40% orig case color mostly on sides and slightly toned on bottom. Trigger guard and push button retain about half of their orig blued finish. Buttstock and forend retain most of an older professionally restored finish with light handling marks and couple of dings in the checkering. According to the “Parker Gun Identification & Serialization” book, this gun started life as a 32″ laminated bbl gun and was likely sent back to Parker for the longer, matching number, Damascus bbls as it is most certainly factory work.
