REMINGTON NO. 3 HEPBURN DELUXE RIFLE. SN 8587. Cal. .32-40BM, 30″ half oct. bbl. Sling swivels have been installed, the one on the bbl through the end of the Cal. mark. Dbl set triggers and cheek-piece. Bbl sight has been removed and a blank installed in the slot. Adjustable tang and windage two blade globe front sight. Comes with seven boxes Remington Ammo and one box John Wayne. A letter from the factory states that it was probably made about 1894. Military sling is later. CONDITION: 95% thinning blue on the bbl with light wear along the edges. Brilliant case-hardening colors on the right side and bottom of the receiver, thinner on the left where it has been heated to soften the receiver for drilling. Stock has been broken behind the pistol grip and repaired. Buttplate has a blue-brown patina. Bright bore has a very rapid twist. 4-46137 FS495 (2,500-3,500)
