*WINCHESTER SPECIAL ORDER 1886 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 45-70. Semi-deluxe rifle with 24″ oct. to round bbl, half magazine, standard front sight with Lyman 6A 2-blade rear sight and Lyman 21 long receiver sight. Wood is straight grain walnut, uncheckered with capped pistol grip stock and Winchester hard rubber buttplate. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum yellow sheet completely identifying this rifle and indicating shipment 9-26-04. SN 131148. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbl and mag tube retain 96-97% strong bright original blue with a small spot on the top flat from a previous buckhorn style sight. Receiver retains 92-94% strong bright original blue with the only losses from minor sharp edge wear and a cleaned area of rust on the bottom. Some very minor light pitting in that place. Lever retains 30-40% faded case colors with the balance turned silver. Hammer retains about 90% dark colors. Wood is sound and retains all of a very fine professionally restored finish.
