*FN BROWNING A 5 GOLD INLAID EXHIBITION GRADE WITH CASE.SN 25361B. Cal. 16 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 26″ Vent rib bbl is choked IC. Blued action is flush gold inlaid with exceptionally well executed large trailing scroll surrounding full relief gold inlaid game birds in flush gold backgrounds, in a style characteristic of Watrin and Vrancken (no signature found). A trio of quail take wing on left side of action, and a pair of pheasant flush on right side. Beautifully flame figured claro walnut stocks feature checkering with bead carved borders, and some carved scroll. Butt is skip line checkered. Weight: 7 lbs 5 oz. LOP: 14-1/4″. Hartman case has space for gun and two sets of bbls. PROVENANCE: This gun was 1st prize at 32nd anniversary fund raiser of the Browning Collectors Assn. The Collection of Robert Burg.
